Our Story

Starting in a small agricultural town on the border of MP and Rajasthan in Western India, Carmel organics had a clear vision right from the outset. We aimed to source ingredients and product development services from India, to supply to global organic/herbal based consumer brands, chain stores and Pharmaceuticals.

There is a huge gap between the optimum quality required for producing the above products, and the actual quality that is supplied. Despite being an agrarian economy, farmers aren’t able to live the quality of life that they truly deserve. Some of the main issues they face is the lack of a support system and the dismal prices they receive for their produce.

Armed with the knowledge that comes with being brought-up in farming families, and a formal education: our founders channelled their zeal for business and agriculture into Carmel organics. Beginning with a basic setup in 2012, we have only grown in strength. After our successful domestic stint in the first year, we went international right from our second year. More R & D, Global certifications, constantly evolving quality control and contemporary business practices have expanded our horizons.
Our backbone has always been our ever increasing network of farmers and their knowledge base. We also use manual labour at strategic places to enhance the quality of our products, which also benefits rural communities. We proud ourselves as one who generates employment opportunities at the source of a stressed agriculture economy.

At Carmel Organics, we have been doing venturing into varied activities constantly; so as to survive through the post-setup phase. But now, we’re firm on evolving to a higher level and building an integrated value chain from sources right to consumers. Hence, private labelling and product development services is another main focus for us now, other than raw material supply.

Apart from high quality organic herbs and spices, our labelling and product development services make sure that we provide ready to use products to our customers. We formulate their new product and make it completely on their label. We aspire to serve customers beyond our existing markets of India, USA, Australia, and some Asian and European countries. In India, we are looking for business from more premium markets as well. Making the business more global export driven is a huge priority for Carmel.

Certifications

Carmel Organics has been certified “organic” by Lacon India Pvt Limited, a subsidiary of Lacon agency based in Germany. We are an EU, NPOP and NOP certified trading and processing unit with a range of more than 100 products. The certification process is extremely stringent and covers all aspects of organic farming and production of organic products.

This includes packaging methods, storage of raw materials and finished goods to produce products that are a class apart. The treatment method is used to prevent contamination. Sampling and analysis methods are used for maintaining purity of the products.
